Field Trips for Students & Educators

San Francisco Center for the Book has maintained a book arts youth education program since our inception in 1996. We offer field trips for elementary, middle school, high school, and college students, and classroom educators. A field trip to the San Francisco Center for the Book provides a lively introduction to the arts and crafts that go into making books by hand. 

We offer two types of basic field trips:

2-Hour Field Trip

• $200 for 2 hours for up to 30 students
• Minimum of 8 students
• Age Minimum 7 years old
• One or more chaperones per 5 students is required depending on the age of the students.
• The 2-hour field trip includes a hands-on activity.

1-Hour Field Trip

• $150 for 1 hour for up to 30 students
• Minimum of 8 students
• Age Minimum 7 years old
• One or more chaperones per 5 students is required depending on the age of the students.
• The 1-hour field trip includes pulling a letterpress print.

Please contact us at info@sfcb.org or call us at 415-565-0545 at least 30 days prior to your requested date to determine availability. Please send 2-3 possible dates and times that will work for your group, along with the number of students and whether you want a one or two hour visit. A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a specific date.

Workshops for Educators
